In the short time that I have been attending Christ Presbyterian Church, I have come to love this Christian community and have felt extremely blessed to have found such a wonderful place of worship. The pastor is very warm and welcoming. Her sermons are inspiring and can easily be linked in today’s world. This Christian community, as a whole, is very welcoming and very special. I am so pleased that I have found such a warm and spiritual home.

Christ Presbyterian Church is an emerging Christian community based in Martinsville. CPC promotes creative worship using meditation, visual arts, drama and liturgical movement. CPC supports a variety of spiritual practices including 12 Step spirituality and offers the community the Journey of Faith Labyrinth nestled in the trees by the brook at the corner of Washington Valley and Crim Roads. Its children's programs include Godly Play and Fantasy Forest puppet story ministry, while its self-directed adult christian education programs include bible study, theology, spirituality and ethics.

Set in a corner of God's tapestry, Christ Presbyterian Church is unique in its building and it's intimate, welcoming community. I enjoy the seasonal pictures that change with views out the sanctuary windows as the outdoor colors of creation enhance the light of the Spirit within. I learn from the sermons that are creative, Biblically based and meaningful to me, as well as to the community. Puppets from the Fantasy Forest along with characters from Godly Play offer a visual and preview to the weekly sermon. I also participate in services for those who grieve offered before Christmas, along with services on Ashe Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and monthly Taize. I am inspired by the variety of music sung-- contemporary, world music, and traditional. Also on the property is a labyrinth that can be walked throughout the year with the sound of the dancing brook accompanying each step reminding me that God is with me on my journey. This church is a special place; one of peace, warm fellowship, and a safe haven where I have many opportunities to spiritually grow.
Christ Presbyterian Church is a beautiful church in a lovely woodsy setting, relecting the inner beauty of the church which comes from the sermons and the pastor, the small choir, the welcoming people, and their activities both in and out of the church. A marvelous and non-traditional spiritual community. They have meaningful and intimate worship weekly. And they are active doing good things in the community. The labyrinth is beautiful! The people are welcoming and serious about their spiritual journeys. A group of people following Jesus in our time and place.
If you are looking for ridgid dogma, pass on by. This is a lively, small community full of people not afraid to question & wonder about following the ways of Jesus in the 21st century. Spiritual journeying is a core practice.
