Middle Earth, a non-profit organization established in 1972, gives middle school and high school age students a positive alternative to drugs, gangs and violence. It offers several different programs through its life skills center, such as job skills, cooking, obtaining a driver's license, financial literacy and independent living. It also provides tutoring, community service, mentoring, crisis intervention, informal counseling and more. It serves approximately 1,500 youth annually from all over Somerset County, and all programs are free.
