Pathways Independent Living Program is designed to prepare youth in alternate care for living independently once they reach adulthood, while also supporting their re-entrance into the community. Pathways' focus is on life skills education and permanency planning to achieve those goals. The life skills curriculum to help these youth focuses specifically on employment, money management, community resources, communication and employment skills. The services provided through Pathways includes remedial education, transitional support counseling, assistance in obtaining higher education, assistance in obtaining employment, education assessment, vocational training and services to teen parents.
