St. Martin's School
St. Martin's School provides a Montessori education through programs designed for toddlers, preschool, and kindergarten age children. The Toddler Program provides children ages 18 through 35 months with an opportunity to work in three different areas: The Movement Area, the Practical Life Area and the Language Area." The first works on hand-eye coordination and other similar skills; the second focuses on using materials necessary for preparing snacks, cleaning and performing other tasks; and the third uses sound games, language cards and vocabulary enrichment activities. The Primary Program, for ages 3 through 6, looks at practical life skills, sensorial opportunities, mathematics, language, culture, outdoor activities and an optional religious program. The Kindergarten Enrichment Program is designed to be an addition to the child's regular school day, with a half-day program looking at a core curriculum of language, mathematics, science, geometry, geography, cultural studies and other areas. Finally, the school offers a summer program for continued enrichment.
Students must be admitted into the school in order to attend, and the procedure includes an introductory tour, application process and interview. Tuition varies based on the age of the child and the specific program chosen, but a breakdown can be found on the school's website.
