I don't know anyone who has had the flu or know anyone who knows anyone who has had the flu. WhereRead More is this 'epidemic'?
Yeah Yeah April 17, 2014 at 06:55 pm
Governor Christie should also do away with the $25 charge to file my taxes electronically. I canRead More send them via the post office for the cost of a few stamps. Doesn't make sense... Think about it, I need to send NJ $25 to get my refund sent to me?????
The Huey is lowered into place on the plaza.

While the sound of the whop whop whop of a Huey's far off blades always meant help or trouble toRead More every one who heard them? That sound always made me stop to discern if I was hearing automatic heavy weapon fire. To this very day that sound gets my attention day or night awake or asleep.

It says Around Town but the headline is UTAH. Utah is not near Natick!! I think everyone should notRead More open an article on Patch unless they see their town's name in the headline. So If it doesn't say Natick, then we all know it is not LOCAL to the Natick Patch. The less clicks these Patch sites get, the fewer advertisers they will get and then perhaps they will realize if we want sensational news from across the country we'd go back to Patch's former owners AOL and the HuffPost! Those here from other Patch sites - I think you should do the same only click on articles that mention your community's name. No name. No click!

I am the parent of 5 children, over the course of 20 years. One (a male) has been formallyRead More diagnosed as being on the Asperger's spectrum. All were MMR vaccinated. There is such a thing as natural genetic variation. There is such a thing as environmental causes. There is also a thing called public health. There are NO strong correlations (forget causality) between ANY vaccination (including MMR) and autism whatsoever. There are NO repeatable, verified studies that establish beyond reasonable doubt even the case to explore the correlation further. As I noted, there is such a thing as public health. The "choice" to not vaccinate not only affects the children involved but also the adult population for some diseases. Several diseases technically require "booster" vaccinations - FOR ADULTS. One such booster is for pertussis (aka Whooping cough). It has not been necessary for adults to get it, tho, because the childhood vaccinations have been so effective that there are almost no carriers. However, due to the panic on the part of some parents to not vaccinate for pertussis, there are now far more carriers and that makes the adult, non-boosted population more vulnerable to a disease that has been easily controlled for decades. The rates of adult pertussis have skyrocketed. We require people to get driver's licenses as a matter of public safety, because the repercussions of untrained drivers to PEOPLE OTHER THAN THEMSELVES can be horrendous. When parents decide not to vaccinate, they not only put the health of their children at risk, they put the health of the entire public at risk. A wise, conservative woman once said to me, "For every freedom there is an equal responsibility." The emphasis on the freedom not to vaccinate is not being balance by a responsibility to the community.

I truly believe its genetic- I've got it in my own family from my husband to my son- but if you allRead More dont know whats happening in our skies- its called chem trails you see-LOOK UP IN THE SKY-it doesnt happen every day but every other day here in Passaic/Bergen/Sussex county-- they are not ordinary exhaust fumes leaving a jets engines but small particles of Aluminum & other particles put out to REFLECT the suns rays- a HIGH amount of heavy metals are raining down on us- showing up in our water, possibly killing our honey bees, food chain-animals we eat thats eaten the afflicted grains & green grass they graze on- its called GEOENGINEERING- and its been going on for probably 20 or so yrs- if you see those trails left by jets that dont disappear in a few moments & stay- then check out in your sky how many of them that you find- they are sometimes seen in checker board patterns- ITS SICKENING- the floride in our water that supposedly to help our teeth are enabling the binding of these heavy metals to pass our blood brain barrier in our heads- it gets even scarier on the area of ozone layers- here is a website that deals with this topic at full length- everyone must read it- I feel its the answer to some of your questions on possible causes of autism and alzheimers is on the rise as the US is the number #1 country in the world with its highest incidence of that disease -www.geoengineeringwatch.org ------TAKE A GOOD LOOK

Wow! Chem trails and government control through water fluoridation. Now we've hit the mother lodeRead More of paranoid conspiracy theories. I think I'll go watch Dr. Strangelove.
The northbound travel lanes on the Route 1&9 Pulaski Skyway will be closed for approximately 24 months while the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) rehabilitates the bridge deck.
Linda Maloney April 13, 2014 at 10:09 am
It's about time they started to make repairs on the Pulaski Skyway, it's been literally fallingRead More apart for years! I heard there is even some controversy with the Port of Authority paying for much of this renovation. It is an access road to the Holland Tunnel, but The Port of Authority isn't responsible for The Holland Tunnel roadways because The Holland Tunnel was there before The POA. I guess the gov. and his people do whatever they want with his own little slush fund(POA).
Marlboro Mann April 13, 2014 at 08:50 pm
Lets hear it for the NJDOT. They could have started the work on Christmas, Palm Sunday, or AshRead More wednesday, but they chose instead to begin the chaos on the first day of Passover thus ensuring that the large percentage of Jewish workers arrive late at work but most importantly arrive home long after the sedars are to begin. Anti Semitism? NO Piss Poor Planning? Yes!

Patch, you're selling out. Let this family figure out their junk without gawkers. You can do betterRead More than this - this is NOT news, it's sensationalism.
MissElanyS April 17, 2014 at 08:49 am
@triptakers, what do you expect from the Patch? They are no longer reporting news and have fired allRead More of their professional staff and hired people off the street with no experience or journalism training whatsoever. Even the National Inquirer has more experience on their writing staff than the Patch. What you are reading here is bird cage liner.

It is a terrible thing to do to your family, the engineer and the emergency people who have to cleanRead More up. At 18 it's awful to contemplate the sadness. I hope he finds peace. It's know that engineers suffer from these events, often for years. PTSD among cops and emergency responders is often a result of seeing these things none of us in the civilian world will ever confront.

@ OE Defending him or merely telling you of my experience in attending 2 Town Halls? My ownRead More experience is that although like others here, I disagree on some political points, I found him surprisingly accessible. After one of the events, he actually chatted with THE PEOPLE afterward in the parking lot, and although I'm a nobody, even I was afforded an opportunity to have a brief exchange with him out there, about an issue I was concerned about. This article in no way resembled my own experience at either of the events I've attended. Just sayin....
ER April 10, 2014 at 01:16 am
p.s. One of the reasons he stayed to chat with THE PEOPLE outside the venue, was that theRead More attendance was so beyond what they had expected, many folks did not get into the building and he felt bad they had come to the event and the place wasn't big enough to hold them all.
