Strong Finish Propels Boys Basketball to Victory

Panthers overcome slow start to avenge last year's opening loss in this season's first game.

In the 2009 season opener, the Bridgewater-Raritan High School boys basketball team held a lead against Immaculata until the last seconds of the game. Then a long-distance buzzer beater put the Spartans over the top, disheartening the Panthers and casting a shadow over the rest of the season. But Friday, again facing Immaculata at home for the 2010-2011 season opener, it was the Panthers that came out on top with a score of 65-57. After struggling in the first quarter, the Panthers fought back in the second quarter, took the lead in the third and ran away with the game in the fourth.
