Bridgewater police are investigating a one-car accident on Route 22 East Sunday morning that snarled traffic for about 45 minutes. No details were available about injuries or the cause of the crash. Patch will update this story as more information becomes available.

Motorcycle Crash Sends Bridgewater Man to Hospital

Resident suffers non-life-threatening injuries after colliding with SUV Saturday morning.

A collision between a car and a motorcycle sent a Bridgewater resident to the hospital on Saturday morning. A Bridgewater man riding his motorcycle collided with an SUV at the intersection of Garretson Road and Commons Way at about 8:45 a.m., Bridgewater Police said. The cyclist, whose age was still unknown on Saturday afternoon, was sent to Morristown Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, according to Lt. Robert Wilt. While the incident is still under investigation, Wilt said, it's possible the accident occured after the SUV ran a red light at the intersection. "It appears that way right now," Wilt said, "but we're not 100 percent sure."

Man Pulled From Water Without Pulse, Revived

Responders able to resuscitate Elizabeth teen before he was transported to hospital.

UPDATE, 11:30 a.m.: Bridgewater Township Police Chief Richard Borden reported Monday that the medical examiner said Pedro Rosa, 19, died at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Sunday, 8 p.m. A swimmer was pulled from the Raritan River without a pulse near Ten Eyck Park on Sunday afternoon but was able to be resuscitated before he was taken to the hospital, Bridgewater Police said. The individual, identified by police as Pedro Rosa, 19, of Elizabeth, received CPR on the scene just north of the bridge for Route 22 westbound before being transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital by the Branchburg Rescue Squad. Cops: Man Stole $260 Worth of Items From Marshalls

The following information was released by the Bridgewater Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Bound Brook man was caught stealing more than $260 worth of merchandise from Marshalls last week, Bridgewater Police said. Everardo Patino, 54, was charged with shoplifting and posession of burglar's tools. According to police, Patino was arrested for shoplifting $262.90 worth of merchandise from Marshalls on June 29 at about 1:20 p.m., police said. Patino was released with a court date to appear. Margaret Purcell, 18, and Eileen Delaney, 24, both of Flanders, were each charged with shoplifting on June 29 at about 5:30 p.m., police said. The two were caught shoplifting bathing suits from Lord & Taylor, police said. Both were released with a court date to appear. $750 Worth of Tools Stolen From Vehicle Outside Mall

Wisconsin man returned to find missing items, police said.

About $750 worth of tools was stolen from a Wisconsin man's vehicle while it was parked outside Bridgewater Commons on June 17 at about 1 p.m., Bridgewater Police said in a statement released Monday. No further information was provided.

Cops: $1,600 Worth of Cologne Stolen From Mall

Theft occurred from the Abercrombie & Fitch display counter, police said.

About $1,6000 worth of cologne was stolen from a Bridgewater Commons store, police said. The theft occurred from the display counter at the Abercrombie & Fitch store on June 20 shortly before 6:30 p.m., according to the Bridgewater Police Department.

Cops: Drunk Woman Drove Wrong Way on 202/206

Hillsborough resident charged with DWI in a school zone.

A Hillsborough woman was allegedly drunk when she drove the wrong way on Route 202/206 in Bridgewater, police said. Linda Perrone, 31, was charged with DWI, DWI in a school zone and driving the wrong way on a one-way street. Perrone was arrested on June 20 at about 12:45 a.m., according to the Bridgewater Police Department. A Somerville man was charged with DWI on June 21 at about 1:25 a.m., police said. Greivin Zuniga, 34, was charged with DWI, failure to maintain a lane and failure to exhibit a driver's license.

Driver Airlifted After Striking Sign, Two Utility Poles

Accident occurred late Sunday night on Route 202 near the intersection of Edgewood Terrace.

A 44-year-old Flemington man was airlifted to the hospital after his vehicle struck an office sign and two utility poles on Route 202 late Sunday night, Bridgewater Police said. According to a statement released Monday by the police department, Snehal B. Patel was traveling southbound on Route 202 near the intersection of Edgewood Terrace when his 2000 Mazda MPV left the right side of the roadway at about 11:10 p.m. The vehicle struck an office sign and two utility poles before coming to rest, police said. Patel, who was the only person in the vehicle, was extricated by the Bradley Gardens Fire Department and airlifted to the Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center, police said. Resident: 'I'm Just Thanking God' We're Alive After Fire

Fred Williams said his friend and housemate is recovering from burns after lightning struck their home, sparking a blaze that destroyed the residence and killed their two dogs.

When Fred Williams and a second resident of the Wilde Hollow home at which he was staying were sitting on the back porch, watching a storm roll in Friday night, they didn't realize the impact of what was coming their way. Lightning struck their home, which later sparked a fire that destroyed the Martinsville structure, killed their two dogs and burned Williams' housemate. But it could have been even worse. Williams said Saturday he found watching the storm pretty amazing, and he felt a bang when lightning hit the house. But the fire that ravaged the structure did not start immediately after the lightning strike, he said.
