Gabriel’s Fountain Whets Appetite, Doesn’t Dampen Wallet
Filet mignon and Italian chicken sammies, BBQ buffalo burgers, roasted chicken and ice cream are some of the delectable dishes offered at Gabriel's Fountain.
If Gabriel's Fountain were in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and the patrons sported skinny jeans and Parliament cigarettes, I would have assumed irony was somehow involved. The place is fronted by an ice cream parlor. The walls feature paintings of pretty flowers and old houses. Straddling the line between popular music and muzak, the sound system plays woodwind reinterpretations of 60s and 70s classics. The list of "Gabriel's Top 10 Burgers" features nine burgers, unless you count the "Goliath One Pound Burger" twice, which I don't. And on top of it all, the food was savory and well-made.
