Pedroso to Be Sworn in for Full Council Term

The township council will hold its annual reorganization meeting Monday.

Filipe Pedroso will be sworn in for a full term at Monday’s township council reorganization meeting. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the municipal complex on Commons Way. Pedroso was chosen to serve on the council in early 2012 after Dan Hayes was elected to mayor. In November, Pedroso was elected to a full term on the council, defeating Democrat William Metz. The meeting will also include a selection of a council president, and a report from Mayor Dan Hayes on the state of the township and the year ahead. Hayes will make appointments of both township professionals and residents to the different committees and boards, with expectations of reappointments of William Savo as township attorney and Scarlett Doyle as township planner. Lifelong Resident Wants Bridgewater to be 'Second to None'

Filipe Pedroso was elected to serve on the township council.

A lifelong Bridgewater resident, Filipe Pedroso just wants to see the township thrive as he prepares to begin his first full term on council after winning in the Nov. 6 elections. "I am very pleased that the residents have confirmed that I have the right vision for Bridgewater," Pedroso said. "I have lived in Bridgewater for practically my entire life. I love this town dearly, and want to see it continue to be the absolute best place to live." Pedroso Chosen as Newest Council Member

Filipe Pedroso will fill the seat vacated by Mayor Dan Hayes.

Current zoning board member Filipe Pedroso was unanimously chosen by the township council Tuesday to fill the position vacated by Mayor Dan Hayes. Pedroso and residents Aaron Kurdyla and Beth Powers were chosen among six candidates by the Republican Committee to fill the spot on the council—and the remaining council members chose the final person. "I am excited to have the opportunity to serve Bridgewater residents," Pedroso said. Kurdyla, Pedroso, Powers Candidates for Council

The council will vote on one of the three to fill Dan Hayes' vacant seat.

The Republican Committee held a vote Monday to choose three candidates to be narrowed down to one to fill the seat on the township council vacated by Mayor Dan Hayes—and the chosen three were residents Aaron Kurdyla, Filipe Pedroso and Beth Powers. These three will be presented to the current township council, who will vote on the one person to fill the seat. The actual date of the vote has not yet been scheduled. There were a total of six candidates vying for a position on council, and aside from the three who will be presented to the current council were Patricia Casamento, Gail Jorgensen and Michael Pestorius.
