Drunk Driver Hit Mailboxes, Had Heroin, Cops Say
Bridgewater man released from custody only to have police find more narcotics, according to report.
A Bridgewater man was arrested for driving while intoxicated earlier this month, and then charged for having heroin and prescription pills in his possession, Hackettstown Police Sgt. Darren Tynan said. Police stopped a vehicle on Route 604 after reports were made of a motorist hitting mailboxes with his car and swerving, Tynan said. Richard Mayor, 26, was pulled over by police, and subsequently failed field sobriety tests, Tynan said. It was also determined Mayor was under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, Tynan said.
