Home Invasion Report Fabricated, Police Say

No charges have been filed and the case is considered closed.

No charges are being filed against the Cedar Crest Road resident who filed a false report about a home invasion Tuesday, according to a release from the Bridgewater Township Police Department. According to a statement released by Lt. Al Nicaretta, a resident on Cedar Crest Road contacted police around 10:26 a.m. Tuesday to report a home invasion. An investigation was conducted by both the Bridgewater Township Police and the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office. Both determined that the alleged victim had fabricated the report of the invasion, the release said.
