Fatal Route 22 Crash Remains Under Investigation

The accident killed a Hunterdon County man near Morgan Lane.

Police are continuing to investigate a New Year's Eve motor vehicle crash on Route 22 that killed a Hunterdon County man. Bridgewater Township Police Sgt. Gregory Duane said Thursday that no new information is available concerning the accident. Mark D'Agostino, 50, of Three Bridges, died following the crash that occurred just east of Morgan Lane at about 5:45 a.m. Monday. Police said the vehicle hit the bridge support under the Foothill Road overpass. The right lane of Route 22 was closed for about three hours as police investigated the accident. D'Agostino was taken to Somerset Medical Center by the Finderne Rescue Squad and Somerset Medical Center Mobile Intensive Care Unit paramedics, and was pronounced dead at 6:30 a.m., police said.
