CT Shooting an 'Unspeakable Horror,' Superintendent Says

Michael Schilder directs school staff to follow security procedures as a precautionary measure.

Superintendent of Schools Michael Schilder released the following message Friday evening concerning the tragedy at the elementary school in Connecticut: Dear Parents and Community, I am writing to you tonight with great sadness.  The loss of children in Connecticut today due to a school shooting is an unspeakable horror. While I do not feel that there is any threat to BRRSD, as a precautionary measure, I did issue a directive this afternoon to all staff to make sure all security procedures are being followed in strict accordance with the district's Crisis Management Plan and standard operating protocols.  Children are likely to be upset by this tragedy.
