Even at the Gatsby, there are low-key days.
Sometimes, even in Jersey, the drama's low-key. Well, comparatively. Let's just say that measured against prior "Jerseylicious" episodes, this week was relaxed and laid back. By that, I mean there were no screaming matches in the parking lot. The episode opens with manager Christie Pereira returning to the salon and stylist Anthony Lombardi departing for his own Verona-based Anthony Robert salon. It's a bittersweet moment for most of the cast, since Lombardi was the salon's big brother, father figure and referee all at once. And he's arguably the most agreeable and laid back person on the show. The plot quickly progresses to head makeup artist Olive Sharpe asking salon owner Gayle Giacomo about arranging a trial for a junior makeup artist…

Two dates and one less-than-amicable business divorce show what's best for the Gatsby crew.
Sometimes divorce is the healthiest thing, as we learn on this week's "Jerseylicious." With salon intern Filipo Giove's parents having a recommitment ceremony to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary, his mother comes to Gatsby owner Gayle Giacomo's salon for a consult on her hair and makeup. The problem: she's set on the best. To her, the best is Giacomo on hair and makeup artist and Glam Fairy owner Alexa Prisco. And when Cathy Giove has the salon consult, she loves Giacomo's job on her hair, but is less than impressed with new head makeup artist Olivia Sharpe's makeup skills. With stylist Tracy DiMarco acting as a double-agent—she's working at the Glam Fairy as a way to further her career and hopes to meet Prisco's New York contacts…

Though less dramatic than prior episodes, this week's show has another breakup.
Breakups. This "Jerseylicious" season can be summed up in a single word—breakups. This week's episode brought what's at least the third breakup of the season, when makeup artist Olivia Sharpe and former best friend Briella Calafiore called it quits. The breakup follows the Gatsby and Glam Fairy breakup by just a week, according to reality TV time. And, of course, Calafiore moves out of the apartment, with help from Sharpe's archenemy, Tracy DiMarco. As show followers can guess, DiMarco is at the heart of the breakup. With Calafiore and DiMarco working together at the Glam Fairy, and Sharpe quitting the fairy squad to become head makeup artist at the salon, the split was almost inevitable. Luckily, Sharpe has her position at the Gatsby to …

'Jerseylicious' takes a trip to singlesville.
There was no more single talk at the Gatsby this week. The ship to single-ville, as stylist Tracy DiMarco called it, is sailing, and she's making sure the other single ladies are on it. For those who don't watch regularly, stylist Gigi Liscio broke up with her boyfriend, Frankie Buglione, several episodes ago on "Jerseylicious," makeup artist Alexa Prisco's been single for an undetermined amount of time and DiMarco dumped her man in one of the season's first episode. But there will be a chance for Buglione and Liscio to see each other later in the episode. It's the 35th anniversary of Salon intern Filippo Giove's father, Filippo Sr.'s pizzeria and Giove invites the Gatsby crew to the celebration. After hearing all the single-talk, DiMarco'…

The Gatsby Salon gets a dress code.
Confession: I could never be on reality TV. It's true—I would make a rotten reality show character, unless someone decides to film a show that revolves around a newsroom. I'm too logical, and would have solved the main plot of this week's "Jerseylicious" in the first 10 or 20 minutes of the show. The subplots—Olivia Sharpe's friend, Briella Calafiore, gets implants, and hairstylist Gigi Liscio's ex-boyfriend, Frankie Buglione, deals with their breakup—however, would take me a bit more time. I dislike implants, but will give Calafiore credit for giving Sharpe a savings jar (a BIG savings jar) to help her save the money for the operation. As for Buglione ... I'm not quite sure what to say. The main plot of Sunday's episode involves a dress …
