Yard Waste Pick-Up Receives Emergency Funding
This is to continue clean-up after Sandy.
With clean-up continuing throughout the township following Hurricane Sandy, the council approved a resolution Thursday for an emergency appropriation of funds to continue the work. These funds, according to township administrator James Naples, are for the costs of the debris removal program. The resolution appropriates $640,000 in emergency funds, which will be repaid in the 2013 budget. “And 75 percent of the $640,000 will be eligible for reimbursement through FEMA,” Naples said. For this program, the township has established six temporary yard sites in addition to the facility already established. The sites will receive tree and brush material, but not leaves.
