Voters approve the latest referendum.
At a special meeting Thursday, voters in Fire District 4 voted 30-0 in favor of increasing funding for two new trucks for the Finderne Fire Company. District 4 encompasses only the Finderne Fire Company. Voters in Fire District 4 originally approved a referendum in mid-April to purchase two new fire trucks. The district was requesting approval to purchase a triple combination pumper fire apparatus and a 100-foot aerial platform fire apparatus. The request was for $1.25 million. But the district only received one bid for the trucks, and it came in about $108,000 higher than they had originally anticipated. The fire district elections will be held Saturday.
Three candidates are running for two open spots on the Fire District 4 Commission, hoping to earn three-year seats on the commission. The four districts in Bridgewater Township will be holding their individual elections Saturday to choose commissioners and request approval for their district budgets. The polls will be open from 2 to 9 p.m. Anthony Ranallo, Paul Orloff and Trent Delameter are running for two seats, with Ranallo and Orloff incumbents on the commission. I do not think 34 votes is good turnout in a town of 40,000+. I never heard a word about this vote but I do agree with supporting firefighters that do good by their neighbors... Unlike GREEN KNOLL FC that has cost Bridgewater over $200,000 in legal costs with their T-Mobile nonsense. Glad their donations are down over 50%.   more ›
