Fire Elections to be Held Saturday

But attendance for these elections is usually low.

The four Bridgewater fire districts will be holding their annual elections Saturday, with voters choosing commissioners and deciding on requested budgets. The polls will be open from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and residents are requested to vote only in their designated districts. Attendance for the fire district elections is notoriously low. In 2012, no more than about 130 people voted in each district. District one covers Martinsville, with the Martinsville Volunteer Fire Company, and voting will be held at the Martinsville Fire House on Washington Valley Road. District two is for the Bradley Gardens section of town, and voting will be held in the firehouse bays of the Bradley Gardens Fire Company on Old York Road. District three covers …

Please vote AGAINST fire district #3 Budget. The Green Knoll fire company has REPEATEDLY refused to publicly open their finances in light of the T-Mobile controversy they are involved with. This group has uprooted the goodwill in their community by harassing seniors with coughing and verbal abuse during their testimony at the zoning board, and further I was witness to the Chief of the Green Knoll…   more ›

Letters to the Editor

Fire Commissioner: Please Vote for District 3 Budget

Jeffrey Holtz is running for a third term as fire commissioner.

To the Editor: Feb. 18 is the Bridgewater Fire District Election. The elections for Fire District No. 3 will be held at the township municipal building. The time is from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. This year, I am running for my third term as fire commissioner. Over the past six years that I have held this post, the fire commission has made great strides. We have upgraded several pieces of fire apparatus. Also, we have updated and implemented a Length of Service award for our many dedicated volunteers. The fire commission funded the purchase of numerous state-of-the-art pieces of equipment for our firefighters to use for your protection. I have been in the fire service now for 26 years, most of them spent as a career firefighter for the Borough of…

You and George Jones have allowed the Green Knoll Fire Company to enter into contract with TMOBILE to construct a 130 foot tower in a residential zone that will do incredible damage to the Green Knoll neighborhood. For 2 years now, residents have been asking for information on this transaction and time and time again requests are stonewalled. I am looking forward to RESIDENTS VOTING NO AGAIN THIS…   more ›
