Dangerous Route 22 Intersection to Get Traffic Light
This is part of the NJDOT's short-term improvement plans for roadway.
As part of the short term improvements for Route 22 designed by the county and state, Bridgewater's Town Council approved the installation of a traffic light at the intersection of Foothill and Ronson roads. The light itself will be installed by the county and state, but the township has agreed to pay for the electricity for the light. “This will be maintained [by the state Department of Transportation],” township engineer Robert Bogart said. “This is an area where there were several fatalities, and there were traffic studies done.” Bogart said the intersection is in the town’s jurisdiction as well as the state’s because of the interchange itself. “But the decision for the traffic light was made because of the accident rate,” he said. …
