I agree John, there is too many ridiculous requirement that don't actually work. I just wish there is a way to constantly modify and update the process. Keep what works and eliminate the nonsense.

ReplyGentlemen, can we please cool it and be civil. Please refrain from name calling cause it won't do anything. How about we try to debate in order to find solutions instead of fighting over whose ideas are right or wrong! Perhaps Mitch has a suggestion that might actually work in both protecting all lives and the right to one self defense! Care to share Mitch?

Hahahaha....Or he is simply crazy! He does display angry, paranoid, and Narcissistic. And I think that he enjoys annoying people. I tried at the beginning to have an intelligent debate with him but then realized that he is not interested in the debate as much as arguing...Kind of remind of the movie "Grumpy Old Men"

Isn't clear how everyone seems to agree that there is something wrong with Stewart??? He keeps wanting to know people's names and see their photos!!! Should I contact Wayne Police Department and inquire about this man? He keeps mentioning me and my article as if I insulted him or something!! Stewart, I will be looking into your real motives and investigate what you are all about. I find it hard to believe that you simply seek a debate. This is gonna sound typical, but you do behalve like a creep. I wonder what will I uncover!!

Not yet John. But if they pass and the Governor doesn't veto them! Most of legal firearm owners in NJ will become criminals according to the new laws.

Liberty you are so correct. This guy called my business after he looked me up. A while back I was reading some debate on this site and he seemed to be overly aggressive and referred to himself as a military Vet. I posted a comment asking him which war was he a part of. The following day I find a message on my business phone from him asking me to call him back. I was so shocked. This is why we need to have mental background checks. Not just for people purchasing firearms, but also for people demanding them banned.

Walter O. Thank you for a great contribution. I agree with you on most of your thoughts and appreciate your classy contribution. Allow me to explain the point behind an AR15 or an AK47. The argument of "who needs an AR15" is being pushed through but no one seems to actually answer it. This is my take on it since I actually own one of those rifles and enjoy shooting more than any other firearm. 200 years ago a musket was basically an advanced weapon for the era and not many people owned them. Today, a Musket is nothing more than a collectible item that most people own for it's history. Today's modern rifles are no longer a bolt action or lever action repeaters, they are semi automatic and accept detachable magazines. However, because the AR platform looks similar to military rifles and new to the market, some people feel intimidated by them. Virginia Tech shooter and the Columbine kids had only hand guns and shotguns and managed to inflict tremendous amount of casualties. So the weapon in it self isn't really the issue nor the capacity of the magazine. The issue is why our kids snapping and going on a shooting spree! I have a theory. Perhaps the media spends too much time talking about those kids and the horrors they inflicted! Maybe the media glorify those monsters and Perhaps that is exactly why they did what they did!!

Mitch the new proposed laws do not offer any real solutions. The criminals will still find a way. It seems that "Feel Good Politics" is what is being proposed in here. No one cares about the black kids in Chicago or Camden that get killed everyday by gang violence. Not one new legislation is proposing to increase prison time on a criminal using a firearm! Not one of those bills is targeting the gangs and the thugs!!! Instead they target everyday people that will purchase their firearms legally. Having said all of that, I do not believe that you can ever have a safe society free of crazy or evil! It is simply impossible. Why are our politicians keep trying to convince us that we can achieve utopia if we ban guns and limit magazines to 10 rounds???? Reason and common sense please, NOT FEEL GOOD POLITICS.
