ReplyI had a tree fall on my house courtesy of Sandy. Six months on, I’m still living under a tarp. Believe me; if I could afford it, I’d have every tree close enough to touch my home put to the chainsaw.

They are intelligent. A few years ago, one apparently observed me opening the sliding glass door to my deck to allow one of my dogs into the house. Well, the next thing I knew, I heard this knocking at the door. I looked down to see a raccoon demanding entry as well. Being that it was daytime, I presumed that the animal was surely rabid and promptly called animal control. However, several days later, the officer assured me that it was probably just a mother raccoon seeking extra food. She never did come back.

Do companies also record people’s dialogue with their voice-prompted substitutes for customer service representatives? When confronted by incompetence of colossal proportions, I’ve been known to voice some rather explicit suggestions to the computer.
