ReplyI agree completely with these words. How can a child learn to get up when they fall and brush it off if they are never allowed to fall? The way parents protect their children now will only disable them as they become adults in the real world and will no longer have someone to pick up the pieces, solve the problem, and clean up the messes. There is nothing wrong with teaching children discipline and respect and responsibility. And by not allowing them to play and fall and make mistakes with actual consequences, children will never learn these things and be lost in the world.

ReplyWow, this was very informative post. I have shared this post myself and hope that others will as well so that more people can be educated on the subject as opposed to making snap judgments without the facts!

I am happy to see all of the support for this article, people using their minds to really express what is happening and discuss the matters. I have been finding in my own discussion with coworkers and friends, the non-gun owners, that it seems those who are on the side of more intense gun control matters feel so strongly that they refuse to listen to my side of the debate, but immediately defend why guns are bad and that is that. They do not understand why I enjoy target shooting and own a gun. They themselves have never been near a gun and find it ridiculous that anyone would want to do so. So right away they turn to all guns should be illegal. Some go as far as to compare shooting for sport to turning nuclear bombing into a sport if someone thinks it is fun. There is purely just fear due to lack of knowledge and negative media/news hype. I hope that more articles and discussions by Ahmed and others continue and allow people to let their voices be heard and provide knowledge to those who are interested in being educated on all sides of the gun debate.
