The first step for any pet with soft stool is a compete physical exam by a veterinarian and a stool samples needs to be checked for intestinal parasites. Based on exam findings, a treatment plan will be formuated. If the exam is normal, a conservative approach (such as a diet change is a resonable first step. If there are any abnormal findings on exam or if there is no response to a conservative approach, then a diagnostic route would likely be chosen. . Four very soft stools per day is abnormal and should definitley be investigated. Hope this was helpful, look forward to meeting you and your pup!"
