I couldn't agree more with this article. It’s a great thing that we are trying to prevent firearms falling into the wrong hands, but they way the government is going about it are the wrong way. Our laws prevent criminals from obtaining a gun. Our new proposed laws will not deter criminals from not obtaining a gun. It just prevents law abiding citizens from obtaining a gun and protecting themselves from criminals.
The government needs to focus on more IMPORTANT issues like mental health, fixing our education system, our unemployment rate, welfare system, etc. If we fix these issues, we would see a reduction in not only gun violence, but violence itself. Our government needs to stop putting band aids over the problem and focus on the real issues.
