Evelyn Tripka Volunteered at Meals on Wheels

Bridgewater resident since 2001 joined Senior Citizens Club events, bus trips.

Evelyn M. Tripka, 84, died Nov. 8th at Somerset Medical Center.

She was born in Newark and resided in Garwood for most of her life before moving to Bridgewater in 2001. 

Tripka began her career as an International Traffic Co-ordinator for RCA, first in Clark, then Edison and retiring from Bridgewater after 35 years with the company.

She was a active member of the Bridgewater Senior Citizens, where she belonged to the Knitting Club.  She was also a member of the Single Senior Women of Somerset County and enjoyed their many bus trips to various fun and exciting places.  She also volunteered tirelessly for Meals on Wheels in Manville and was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville. 

Surviving are her siblings Steven J. Tripka, Madeline Etzold, Sandra McDanolds and many nieces and nephews.  Evelyn was predeceased by her loving father, mother, older brother and three sisters. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 20 at the Immaculate Conception Church, 35 Mountain Ave., Somerville.
