Tax Payment Deadline Extended to Sept. 10

Delays in getting state info led to the extension, officials say.

Tax bills went out later than scheduled and, as a result, the grace period for residents to pay taxes has been extended to Sept. 10.

The original grace period deadline was Aug. 10.

“We didn’t get what we needed from the state on time, so we delayed sending out the tax bills,” said township administrator Robert Bogart.

Bogart noted that every New Jersey town experienced the same delay in getting information from the state.

He credited the Finance Department with “doing a pretty good job letting people know.”

“I’m pretty confident we did about all we could," Bogart added. "Hopefully, it won’t happen again."
